The history and food of Florence! We could not ask for a more exciting three hours in Florence. Eleonora was a tremendous host to her City. We met over a cup of expresso before venturing out to see this inspiring City. The food market, San Lorenzo Medici Chapel, the Duomo, Plazza Della Signoria were just a few of our stops along the way as we traveled through history. And, of course there was some wonderful food at the market and amazing gelato along the way. Eleonora also provided outstanding recommendations for shops to visit and restaurants to dine in (one included a cellar that offered an opportunity to see the remains of the original Colosseum structure). An amazing experience with a wonderful person.

We spent a terrific (and filling!) afternoon with Eleanora. She’s extremely knowledgeable about food and wine and took us to some real “off the beaten path” spots including trying lampredotto and a very local pasta at the Central Market, enjoying regional wines at a very unique Enoteca, trying sweets at a charming old bakery as well as stops for truffle tasting as well as for Gelato. A very memorable part of our trip to Florence.

Our walking tour of Florence with Elanora was exactly what we wanted… a stroll through local neighborhoods, history and culture of the city, and of course the main sites. She gave us instructions on where and how to enter crowded places. Plus she sprinkled in tips on restaurants, shops and the best gelato. She made lunch and dinner reservations for us at charming eateries we would never have found on our own. She was also available by phone to help us get un-lost. We highly recommend Elanora as a truly wonderful local guide with excellent English.

Eleonora was lovely. We could have visited with her all day. She made us feel like she was showing her home town to us as close, longtime friends. We explored with Nora for 3 days in Florence and Pisa. Nora guided us through Santa Croce, Galleria Dell'Accademia, Galleria degli Uffizi, Duomo Cathedral, Crypt, the Baptistery, Piazza dei Miracoli (in Pisa) &the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
